For most, the idea of Thanksgiving means a warm home, overflowing with family and a full stomach. For some, holiday opportunities are bleak. The stress of just having food on the table takes the joy out of a meal meant for giving thanks.
Right now there are over 100 families in the greater Southwick community who may not be able to enjoy this holiday.
Our Community Pantry, the little parsonage at 220 College Highway, is getting ready to once again offer all the fixings for a proper Thanksgiving meal to them.
Donations are being sought so each family will be offered vegetables, stuffing, cranberry sauce, dessert and the turkey.
The food will be distributed to families in Southwick, Granville and Tolland.
Donations can be left at Boy Scout food drive drop-offs on Nov. 23 or the food pantry, 220 College Highway.
